What will be required from you?

You will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore, with responsibility for compliance matters in MFEX Hong Kong and MFEX Singapore which are fully owned subsidiaries of MFEX. You will be working together with and reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer of MFEX Group and your tasks will consist in, among others:

  • Overall accountable for the Compliance function of the Hong Kong and Singapore entities.

  • Perform the Compliance Risk Assessment for Hong Kong and Singapore and define an annual Compliance Plan for the entities, in line with the Compliance strategy and plan for the MFEX Group.

  • Ensure that an appropriate Compliance framework is in place, and that it is functioning effectively across the Hong Kong and Singapore entities.

  • Identifying issues and implement control procedures, policies and programs to remain in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Accountable for the implementation of an adequate:

- Monitoring of compliance with legal and regulatory rules; and

- Compliance and ethics process which gives comfort to the Local Management and the Group Chief Compliance Officer that “compliance and ethics” risks are adequately managed.

  • Perform compliance trainings and provide material for trainings.

  • Providing comprehensive Compliance advisory support for local Management and relevant teams and business lines.

  • Provide quarterly Compliance reports to the Local Management and the Board of Directors of MFEX Hong Kong and MFEX Singapore, as well as to the Group Chief Compliance Officer.

  • Support communication and administrative matters in relation to supervisory authorities in Hong Kong (SFC) and Singapore (MAS). Handling interactions with supervisory/regulatory authorities and industry bodies in HK and SG such as notifications and filings, enquiries, inspections, completing risk assessment questionnaires.

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory developments and rule changes and highlighting the impact to relevant stakeholders and business lines.



Who are you? Skills? Minimum qualifications?

  • You have 5 years experience of working in a compliance function, or similar.

  • You have a good understanding of all of the compliance and ethics domains which impact financial institutions in Hong Kong and Singapore, such as AML, sanctions, and data privacy.

  • Good understanding of local rules and regulations across Asia Pacific, including Securities and Futures Act.

  • You have a good knowledge of the local regulatory reporting environment.

  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of host language of Hong Kong / Singapore is an additional asset.

  • You are proactive and capable of operating autonomously whilst leveraging available support and tools.

  • You have an independent mindset, are assertive and can manage challenging internal and external stakeholders.

  • You are disciplined and have strong organization skills.

  • You can quickly build relationships with stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
